November 30, 2017, Nunn, Colo. – Colorado Engineering Experiment Station, Inc. (CEESI), a leading provider of flow measurement research, testing, and calibration services, announced today the appointment of Rich Schoonover as President effective November 27, 2017. Mr. Schoonover replaces Jerry Caldwell, who resigned in November.

“I’m honored to join the CEESI team as president,” said Mr. Schoonover. “CEESI has always been a leader in the industry, but today, the world demands more specialized testing and real-time solutions. I look forward to building up our services and support to address changing customer needs. By elevating our customer value and service and improving operational efficiencies, CEESI will be better positioned for domestic and international growth. It’s an exciting time for this respected organization.”

Mr. Schoonover spent more than eight years at Solix Algredients, a venture-backed Colorado State University spinout that supplies algae-based, natural ingredients to health-conscious consumers. During his tenure as chief operating officer, he successfully pivoted the company from a producer of algal biomass for renewable biofuels to an FDA-regulated supplier of algalbased nutraceutical ingredients.

Before joining Solix, Mr. Schoonover held leadership roles at Enginuity (now a Dresser-Rand company) and Tenneco Energy. He earned a B.S. and M.S. in mechanical engineering at Colorado State University, and was one of three graduate students responsible for the construction of the Large Bore Engine Testbed at CSU’s Engines and Energy Conversion Laboratory.

Speaking on behalf of Western Energy Support & Technology, Inc. (WEST), CEESI’s parent company, CEO Mike Carter said, “Rich brings a strong background in combustion engineering, gas engines, and testing, all of which will be beneficial to CEESI. He has demonstrated that he knows how to get things done as a hands-on leader.”

“I would also like to reiterate our thanks to Jerry Caldwell for his contributions to CEESI during his tenure,” Carter continued. “We wish him the best in his new endeavors.”

Colorado Engineering Experiment Station, Inc. (CEESI) performs NIST traceable primary and secondary calibration for numerous types of flow meters and fluids. In addition to quality calibrations, CEESI offers multiphase and cryogenic test services, valve testing, and a wide range of flow measurement engineering and training services.
